:: The 4 Majors Challenge ::

4 Majors Challenge Pool
The challenge consists of 4 individual pools that make up the 4 Majors Challenge. Each Major will hold it's own individual pool, but the 4 Majors Challenge awards a bonus prize to those the individual that earns the most money in all 4 majors. You don't have to win a pool to be the 4 Majors Champ - you just need to be consistent. There is no additional fee to participate in the 4 Majors Challenge, the entry fee is included. Each entry is automatically included in the 4 Major's Challenge.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR THE BRITISH OPEN (AKA "THE OPEN"). SEE TAB ABOVE OR CLICK HERE

A few items you should note:
  1. The 4 Majors Challenge itself has no additional costs outside of the entry fee associated with each individual tournament's pool.
  2. The Entry Fee is $50 and this gets you in all four major pools.
-- $40 for each entry will be split evenly into the four majors pools
-- -- $10 towards each of the four majors
-- $8 for each entry will go towards to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
-- $2 for each entry will go to the 4 Majors Challenge pool.

NOTE: If you have not paid before the next tournament starts, your entry will be removed. No questions asked.
  3. The simplest explanation - have the best overall total score (lowest) in all 4 Majors combined and claim top spot.
  4. Register yourself on the site and then before each Major, submit your players.

NOTE: If you decide to join after any Major has been played (whether starting at the US Open, British Open or the PGA), your entry is still $50. You will receive 4 strokes higher than the highest entry for each of the missed majors - therefore, allowing you to still have a change to win the 4 Majors Challenge. Your money will be distributed as noted above to ensure all pools are treated the same.

Special Items to Note

Pick 12 golfers for your team, your best 8 count
'OB Rule' applies if you don't have 8 make the cut. (see below for the rule description)

Two important things to know about picking your pool team:
1. Even though the majority of invitees to this each tournament are identified prior to the tournament, the  tournament committee does not finalize the field of invitees until the week of the tournament.
2. Not all invitees actually play in the tournament (injuries, withdrawals, etc)!  Some past champions elect to pass on their life-time exemption in order to give a younger golfer a chance at glory.

To make things as easy as possible, the pool's team selection page will only contain the names of those golfers actually playing in this year's tournament.  It is expected, however, that all pool participants understand from the above two notes that the list of golfers shown on the team selection page may change and it's the pool participants responsibility to do their own due diligence on health status, attendance likeliness and other factors prior to selecting their team.

Deadline - Your team must be entered at least 30 minutes before the first golfer tees off on the Thursday of the pool.  A team submission cut-off count-down timer is provided on the player selection page for your convenience. Entries cannot be entered in manually after the deadline. Sorry.

A reminder it is your responsibility to monitor player changes prior to the start of the tournament, and adjust your team picks accordingly (we do not currently have a system in place to automatically notify of player drop-outs, injuries, etc.).
Masters: 18-Apr-2013
US Open: 13-Jun-2013

British Open: 18-Jul-2013
PGA: 08-Aug-2013

Out Of Bounds Rule (explained)
The ‘Out of Bounds Rule’ involves the system automatically adding the required number of 'OB Stand-in’ golfers to a team to ensure every pool participant has eight active golfers following the cut.
As a penalty for needing any additional golfers, 'OB Stand-in’ golfers are assigned a score of two strokes greater than a golfer who made the cut, but finished last at the end of the tournament’s final round.

For example - assume Tiger Woods is not one of your 12 picks, and assume Tiger makes the cut, but finishes tied with two other golfers for last place at the end of Sunday’s round, with a score of +9 for the tournament. A participant in the pool, who has only 6 of his/her 12 players make the cut, would be assigned two 'OB Stand-in’ golfers, each posting a score of +11. For those participants who did choose Tiger as one of their 12 picks, they would receive Tiger’s actual score of +9.
